FY 2024-2027 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

The Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) FY 2024-2027 Transportation Improvement Program: This document outlines planned transportation improvements over the next six (6) years and was developed by the cooperative transportation planning body for the urbanized area that includes Athens-Clarke County and most of northern Oconee County.

The Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) FY 2021 - 2024 Transportation Improvement Program and FY 2025 - 2026 Second Tier of Projects: This document outlines planned transportation improvements over the next six (6) years and was developed by the cooperative transportation planning body for the urbanized area that includes Athens-Clarke County and most of northern Oconee County. The FY 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Program was adopted by the MACORTS Policy Committee on October 14, 2020 (this is a large PDF file).

METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN

2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan:
The 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan for the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) is available here. The plan was adopted by the MACORTS Policy Committee on October 2, 2024.

The Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) assures the Georgia Department of Transportation that no person shall on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, family or religious status, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. UPWP
The UPWP will guide transportation planning activities toward the goals and policies of the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 budget cycle. This document is the annual budget of MACORTS and was adopted by the Policy Committee on June 12, 2024.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION STUDY
Public Transportation Study for the MACORTS Region
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the options available to provide public transportation service within the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) region. The study is now complete and available for download as an Adobe Reader (.pdf) file. Hardcopies and Compact-Disc versions are available at Athens-Clarke County Planning or by contacting Robert Walker.

PARTICIPATION PLAN
Participation Plan/Plan de Participacion
The Participation Plan outlines the organizational structure for the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS), the participation process, major opportunities for public comment, implementation and evaluation processes and government requirements.  This document was approved by the Policy Committe on May 12, 2021.

LIMITED ENGLISH PROFIENCY PLAN
Limited English Proficiency Plan for MACORTS and the Athens Transit System /Plan de Dominio Limitado del Ingles
This document examines the needs of the limited English proficient population and how MACORTS and the Athens Transit System serve that population. This document was approved by the Policy Committee on May 12, 2021.

AUTHORIZED LIST OF FEDERALLY FUNDED PROJECTS
The Annual List of Authorized Projects Report lists all transportation projects in the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Transportation Study (MACORTS) planning area to which funds were obligated during each federal fiscal year. Obligated is defined as the Federal government’s legal commitment to pay the Federal share of a project’s cost. An obligated project is one that has been authorized by the federal agency and funds have been obligated.
