PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) metropolitan planning organization (MPO) is currently underway with the development of the regional long-range transportation plan, the MACORTS 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
PROJECT SCHEDULE
The planning process will extend through the fall, with adoption anticipated in October 2024. Key dates and project milestones are indicated in the graphic.

Community Events
We have concluded our first round of in-person public engagement. We’ll be back in the summer
with more opportunities to engage with the MTP 2050 project team. Stay tuned for details about
how to connect with us!
Past Events
The project team facilitated a booth at community events to solicit feedback on transportation
investments in the region, promote the survey, and build project awareness.
